Guidance
God Willing
We’d love you to join us at our second annual Rooted In Faith Christian Youth Conference for this year's topic of Guidance.
We will be hosting three sessions exploring the topic of Guidance while including extended breaks for refreshment and lunch so you can meet and enjoy social time with the other young people attending and the conference leaders.
This conference is aimed at young adults from the age of 15+ however, if you feel your child may benefit from these sessions we would not want to exclude them. Please make sure any attendees under the age of 18 are there with an adult's permission and suitably accompanied. If you have any questions about this please contact the conference organisers.
Agenda
10.00 - 10.30: Arrival and refreshments
Join us from 10:00 to grab some refreshments and have a chat before the first session
10.30 - 11.30: Am I ready for God’s guidance?
Speaker: Tom Wheatley (Elder and Youth Leader)
This first session will explore the, perhaps often forgotten, need for God’s guidance in every area and at every stage of our lives, posing the challenging question, ‘Is your heart ready to submit to God’s will whatever that may be?’
11.45 - 12.45: How does the Lord guide his people?
Speaker: Daniel Tribe (Assistant Minister)
This is the topic we often jump to when we seek guidance. How will God actually guide me? How will I know that it is His guidance? This session will aim to deal with God’s working by His word, by answers to prayer, by providences, and by Godly counsel.
12.45 - 14.45: Bring or buy lunch
We plan a longer lunch break which allows you to meet others in an informal setting and build Christian friendships. We will provide snacks and drinks through the day but ask you to either bring your lunch or, many join together as a group and walk into the city centre to purchase food. We also have a large hall facility upstairs where you can come to enjoy your lunch, continue fellowship and take part in games like table tennis, air hockey and pool.
14.45 - 15.45: Have I gone the wrong way?
Speaker: John Thackway (Pastor)
Sometimes God’s guidance may not be clear to us, or we may fear we have taken a wrong direction. What do we do in those circumstances? This final session will aim to help and deal with the perplexities of not so clear cut cases and what to do if we fear we’ve stepped outside of the will of God.
After the final session the church will remain open for refreshments, fellowship and a time to meet with the conference speakers.
